I'm back! It seems like life have been crazy for everyone. I think the beginning of the fall season is a time to regroup and head into the holidays and end the year with a bang. Here are a few things to appeal to your senses.

My favorite candle line is Bluewick Candles. Bluewick candles are made with soy and with a non lead wick. Looking for a soy candle is so important for your health and the environment. The wonderful thing about Bluewick is their fragrances as so wonderful and when the candle is burning the fragrance permeates the entire house. In winter when things start to smell a bit stale and the windows are closed all day, this will freshen things up quickly. Bluewick has these wonderful travel tins and I love this fragrance Cannell which is Cinnamon leaf!

I can't say enough I love fragrance!! No, not the usual perfumes and dept store types but fun and fruity fragrances is what appeals to me. I must have my environment smell nice, so I carry little perfumes with me and squirt a little bit here and there and this keeps me happy where ever I am.

Now I mentioned I don't like the standard type fragrance. Demeter is my favorite line they carry smells that are just delightful!

Sometimes you just want the smell of a Jolly Rancher candy in the air... can't you just smell the green apple now!

What about the tangy smell of Jelly Bellies, how about Mango Pineapple Salsa! Woo Hoo!

Ok the house smells great and every where I go gets a little spritz...what about my car. Yankee Candle makes a great item... Car Gel. This fragrance lasts a loooong time. The Vanilla Lime is the scent that will usually be in my car but ...

for fall there is a 3 pack Autumn Leave, Autumn Wreath and MacIntosh which is so wonderfully strong, is smells like a crisp MacIntosh Apple I got that for the car, and then....

A couple years ago a friend of mine gave me a 3 pack of Shower Gels from Philosophy. I always enjoy a great shower gel but this gel was also a shampoo and bubble bath. The shower gel is a moisturizing gel that lathers head to toe and good for all parts of the body, great shaving cream too. Philosophy also has the uniquely fun fragrances.

Oh how I just love those fruity drink smells!!

I could just smother myself in the smell of red velvet cake... all I can think of now is a Red Velvet Cake from Magnolia Bakery in Manhattan!!!

This makeup is amazing!! I have used Mac, Smashbox, Clinique and on and on but believe it or not the Ulta brand makeup goes on well and stays on. Fabulous Finds at the San Francisco Gift Fair

I attended the San Francisco Gift Fair looking to see what was new this year. I heard the show was smaller than previous years so I did not know what to expect. I was so excited when I discovered some really fantastic gems!!

These rings are sensational! The company is called ollipop and is actually a division of Sweet Romance. Sweet Romance is a vintage inspired jewelry company with designs by Shelley Cooper who also designs the ollipop division! ollipop is described as the pop art of personal style. Semi-precious stones, old glass elements blended together with unique retro metals.

Unfortunately there is no website at this time for ollipop. The rings are selling so quickly they are unable to fill orders fast enough. If you are having trouble finding the products. One of the obvious trends is green products. Well let's hope this is a new way of life and not a trend! There were companies that used recycled materials in the most creative way. Among them were recycled clothing, office and school supplies, shopping bags and the jewelry company shown below Squishy Sushi. What a great name for a business! All designs are one of a kind since the materials are recycled.

The last company is a company called My Mothers Buttons. This is a wonderful use of truly beautiful pieces of art. The company uses antique buttons for their incredible jewelry creations.

The button bracelets pictured below have an assortment of different color and textured buttons. All of the pieces are one of a kind . There are also bracelets that are all the same button or same color theme. They are all treasures!

Here are some of the ring designs and once again they are all unique pieces.

There are a variety of different style necklaces and it really was fascinating the history behind the buttons. I am now interested in antique buttons and have learned so much about button history but I also know I have much more to learn! The detail of these pieces even include a wonderful clasp. It makes you wonder if there is some way you can show of the back of the necklace as well. :-)

Michael Jackson Memories pt 2

After more than a week off I am back and sharing more fun Michael Jackson memorbilia.

I sold these gloves in my store in the 80's. They are stretchy with silver glitter elastic thread running throughout the glove. They were so popular and people would come in and try one on and had to buy it. The glove was like magic!!

This jacket is from the Michael Jackson fan club. I had the matching t-shirt and sweatshirt which I wore all the time. I didn't wear the jacket because I was afraid I would never be able to replace it if I wore it out. The jacket is black satin with silver thread for the logo!

My Michael Jackson and Jackson 5 album collection. There are a couple of 8tracks. I had many cassettes and have all the CD and CD mixes. I actually bought my first CD player because of Michael Jackson. I already had the "BAD" album and I found out there were bonus tracks on the CD. Off I went to buy the CD and a player!

I love these shoes!! LA Gear came out with a line of Michael Jackson shoes called "Unstoppable"

I always wished I had bought the other styles too. These are white with gold metal buckles. There are studs surrounding the shoe and the laces were white with glittery gold threads throughout. They were stylin' :-)

This is my prized artist designed shirt. It is definitely a piece of artwork and from the Smooth Criminal time period. I have this hanging in my bedroom. The beautiful blue on the black shirt has the great nighttime effect.

Michael Jackson Memories

Hello I am Tina the Trend Guru. I will be updating you on trends and fabulous finds.

I have decided that my first posts would be about the the original trend setter, Michael Jackson. Michael has meant so much to me in my life and for millions around the world and has definitely set the trends in music, dance, fashion and art to name a few things. There is no one who defines style like Michael Jackson. He was a true original.

Please share with me the beginnings of my love for Michael Jackson. This journey will be told in this first post with some of my Michael Jackson t-shirts!

My first shirt is a Jackson 5 shirt. My friend and I wore these shirts with matching hats while we mastered the J-5 moves to their songs!

The next shirt is from the Michael Jackson fan club I belonged to in the 80's. I had to get everything they made starting with this t-shirt and sweatshirt.

My next set of sweatshirt and t-shirt are from Captain EO, the Disneyland 3-D movie. I went to Disneyland many, many times to see this amazing production with Michael. I loved that he was in 3-D and it seemed he was right in front of me and I was part of his space adventure.

This shirt is from the BAD tour actually this is a sweatshirt and I do have a different t-shirt from the tour but I am trying my best to keep this to a minimum. :-)

This shirts is one of my prized shirts. My friend had it made by an artist we met in Dallas, TX. She sent him one of my favorite photos and he did this piece of artistry in 1990. It arrived just in time for my birthday and I have cherished it ever since!

And lastly I will end with this memorial shirt. This is the shirt I wore today, the day of the Michael Jackson memorial. I still can't believe he is no longer with us...I will always love Michael Jackson!
